What Is the KonMari® Method?
The KonMari® Method was developed by Marie Kondo and helps to consciously select possessions and keep only what sparks joy or serves a purpose. Instead of room by room, organizing is done by categories. The result is a sustainable organizational system that works in the long term. Learn more in this blog post.
How Does Such a Coaching Work?
After a free initial consultation, we discuss your goals and select the appropriate organizing coaching. Then we schedule the first appointment and work step by step toward more order at home. I am – unfortunately – not Mary Poppins. Organizing requires a certain time commitment on your part – not for nothing is it called a “KonMari marathon.” We go through the categories of the method together in various sessions. You choose how much you need me.
Do I Have to Throw Anything Away?
No, of course you do not have to! You keep everything that sparks joy for you. As a coach, I am by your side and support you with difficult decisions. Only you ultimately decide what you keep, give away, sell, or let go of.
My (Dis)Order Is Uncomfortable or Embarrassing to Me.
It does not have to be. Many of my clients feel similarly before the first appointment. Order and disorder are also very personal perceptions. You also do not need to tidy up before I arrive.
My Partner or My Children Are Messy. What Should I Do?
When you have created order in the areas important to you and feel more comfortable, it often has a contagious effect on those around you. Focus first on the things you can influence yourself. Many partners or children become curious when they experience how much calm and clarity more order at home creates. Do not be discouraged – I am happy to support you on this path.
Do I Have to Throw Away All the Things I No Longer Need?
No. Many items can be given away, donated, sold, or recycled. Upon request, I support you in finding the right solution for things you no longer need. Upon request, I take care of disposing of the items you no longer want. . It is important to me that all items are reused, recycled, or disposed of in a sustainable manner. Experience shows that a large portion of items no longer needed can certainly bring joy and benefit to someone else. I have created a corresponding list for this purpose.
